The Center for Research and Study of Djibouti (CERD)
Dr Mohamed Osman Awaleh is Director of the Earth Science Institute and Head of the Environmental Chemistry Laboratory at the Center for Research and Study of Djibouti (CERD). Dr Awaleh has obtained MS Degrees in Solid State Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry from the University of Maine and Caen (France), respectively, and a PhD in Supramolecular Chemistry at the University of Montreal. His research and fieldwork encompass crystal engineering, thermal geochemistry and wastewater treatment. He has published scientific articles, two book chapters and a book, Polymers de coordination a base d’Ag(I) et Or(I) (Éditions Universitaires Européens). He has been an Associate Program Fellow at the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), was a recipient of a 2009 World Bank Development Marketplace Award, and a finalist for the Abdul Latif Jameel Grant for Scientific Research and Innovation in Technology in the Arab World.
