Dr. Matthew Huber (University of New Hampshire) is a Professor of Earth Sciences and a leading expert on using information from climates of the past to inform future climate change prediction. His work encompasses tropical climate dynamics from interannual to multi-million year time scales. A key area of interest of his is how future tropical warming will affect human health, ecosystem services, food and water security, economies and societies in East Africa and the Middle East. Huber’s recent work on tropical heat stress on humans and mammals in a much warmer world has grave implications for the region.
